What makes a "house" a "home"?

March 6th was our last day in the house where we had spent the last 4 and half amazing years! We've created so many wonderful memories while living there, it was hard to say good bye. As we drove away from our house for the very last time I had tears streaming down my cheeks. It was harder to leave then I thought possible.

In the first four years of being married, Dustin and I moved 5 times, it was never this hard for me to move before, so why now?

Because, this was the only home my boys had ever known. Alex was only 3 weeks old when we moved in. Isaac was born while living there. I had their growth chart on my bedroom wall (I'm now kicking myself for not taking a picture of it, I'll have to be content that I transferred the info onto a paper chart). We spent many hours walking and exploring the trails. The boys played baseball with daddy in the courtyard. We planted flowers on the patio which the boys referred to as our "garden". I've been blessed with so many wonderful times and fond memories!

I'm so grateful for all the help we had in packing up our things and loading all of our stuff into the trailer. We couldn't have done it without Dustin's dad, step mom and some friends, thanks a million guys!

We had to take off the front door in order to get some of the furniture out. To put the door back up Dustin needed some help from Chad, looks like they were having too much fun

Here's Grandma Elaine taking a much deserved break and hanging out with Alex and Isaac

(I didn't realize it 'till after I took a few pictures, but there were water spots on my lens, bummer)

While Dustin and the others took the last load of stuff to the new place the boys and I had stayed behind to do some cleaning. I kept a few things to keep them occupied, here I share pictures of our very last project in our old house.

As my family and I walked up the porch to our home together I was reminded, by my dear husband, that

FAMILY IS WHAT MAKES A HOUSE A HOME!

I can't wait to create new memories with my family in our new home!

we'll miss that place, too, but not nearly as much as you will.
